Onsite staff working in the mining and construction industries are frequently required by client organisations or individual employers to demonstrate their ability to safely operate specific machinery or tools. WTCWA is able to assist clients to undertake Verifications of Competency (VOC) through the provision of appropriately qualified and experienced staff, and robust processes and documentation that meet strict safety and health standards.
VOC process includes written (theory) questions and demonstration of skills. The VOC references the relevant unit of competency and utilises organisational policies, procedures and equipment.
WTCWA offer the following VOC’s (more can be created on request):
Slewing mobile crane (C2, C6, C1)
Non-slewing mobile crane (CN)
Integrated tool carrier
Elevating work platform (EWP)
Rigging (basic, intermediate and advanced)
Scaffolding (basic, intermediate and advanced)
Relevant and in-date high risk work licence and/or statement of attainment.
2-4 hours. Time will vary depending on the number of candidates and what is being VOC’d.
Contact a friendly WTCWA staff member for a quote.
A signed report verifying the competency of the candidate will be provided.
The VOC is not directly aligned with a unit of competency and as such no statement of attainment or testamur will be issued.
Candidates are required to wear safety boots, long pants and shirt (no singlets).
