This face-to-face Site Supervisor course has been designed for people who are already working in a role supervising teams, are newly appointed to a supervisory role, or are an appointed person under section 44 of the mine safety inspection act who:
Manage on-site safety (including risk assessment, risk control and communicating workplace procedures)
Regularly communicate with workers, management and clients
Diagnose and solve routine problems
Monitor and ensure work tasks are completed on-time and to standard
Create and maintain operating records.
This 2.5 day Site Supervisor course is a standalone course that has been developed as a valuable addition for our heavy industry clients. This is because some mining worksites dictate the requirement for supervisors to supply a valid statement of attainment for the units of competency in this course before mine site access is approved.
As well as classroom work, this course uses actual worksite activities to train and assess students. This demonstrates the vital relationship between the course material and the workplace where these skills will be used.
This course also provides a sound starting point for Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, trained here at Workforce Training Centre WA, as it introduces many of the topics that are trained in this qualification, including communications, teamwork and leadership.
