Course Overview (Worksafe fee not included)

This face-to-face course provides students with the skills and knowledge to perform the duties of an intermediate scaffolder, including erecting and dismantling cantilever and spurred scaffolds, a sloping platform, tube and coupler scaffold, a cantilevered crane loading platform (CCLP), a mast climber and a safety screen.

On successful completion, students can apply to have new classes added to their high risk work licence through WorkSafe WA.

2019 Course Dates

By the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Identify scaffold and scaffold equipment

  • Identify and control hazards

  • Demonstrate splices and whippings

  • Demonstrate bends, knots and hitches

  • Plan, erect and dismantle cantilever and spurred scaffolds

  • Plan, erect and dismantle sloping platforms

  • Plan, erect and dismantle tube and coupler scaffolds

  • Plan, erect and dismantle cantilevered crane loading platforms

  • Plan, erect and dismantle mast climbers

  • Apply a safety screen

  • Insect scaffold and scaffold equipment

  • Complete a handover certificate.
