Course Overview (Worksafe fee not included)

This face-to-face course provides students the skills and knowledge to safely operate a boom-type elevating work platform (EWP) 11 metres or more. This course includes identifying weights of loads to be carried in the EWP, conducting pre-start and post-start operational checks, and using operational and ground controls.

On successful completion, students can apply for a high risk work licence or apply to have new classes added to their existing high risk work licence through WorkSafe WA.

2020 Course Dates

By the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Identify and control hazards associated with operating an elevating work platform

  • Identify legislative and organisational standards

  • Select the right elevating work platform for the job

  • Select and inspect safety equipment

  • Conduct a pre-start and post start inspection

  • Operate an elevating platform work platform safely

  • Shut down the elevating work platform.
