Course Overview (Worksafe fee not included)

This face-to-face course provides students with the skills and knowledge to perform the duties of a dogger including, slinging techniques, selecting and inspecting lifting gear and directing the crane operator during load movement.

On successful completion, students can apply for a high risk work licence through WorkSafe WA.

2020 Course Dates

By the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Identify hazards associated with dogging tasks and equipment

  • Control hazards associated with dogging tasks and equipment

  • Assess the load and select appropriate tools and equipment

  • Select and inspect tools and equipment (including communication equipment)

  • Communicate using hand signals

  • Identify and use appropriate slinging method

  • Use bends, knots and hitches

  • Identify and work within the confines of legislation and organisational policies and
