Course Overview (Worksafe fee not included)

This face-to-face course is for anyone who is required to have a high risk work licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding at a basic level. Basic scaffolding incorporates the erection, alteration and dismantling of modular or pre-fabricated scaffolds, cantilevered materials hoists with a maximum workload of up to 500 kg, ropes and gin wheels, safety nets and static lines and bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork).

On successful completion, students can apply for a high risk work licence through WorkSafe WA.

2020 Course Dates

By the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Identify scaffold and scaffold equipment

  • Identify and control hazards

  • Demonstrate splices and whipping

  • Demonstrate bends, knots and hitches

  • Install and remove a safety net

  • Install and remove a cantilevered materials hoist

  • Install, use and remove a gin wheel

  • Erect, alter and dismantle mobile scaffold

  • Erect, alter and dismantle modular scaffold

  • Erect, alter and dismantle bracket scaffold.
